Loren Nibbe Digital Montage

The possibilities inherent in combining digital images into fine art montages was first introduced to me at a Photoshop World conference in a session by professional photographer, Jim DiVitale. I came home energized and ready to start putting images together in innovative ways. Going through a series of my collected photos is the first step in the process. As ideas develop, I start layering the images adding filters and sometimes painterly effects with Studio Artist software. Once I have a number of layers to work with, I begin to experiment with the magic of Photoshop's blend modes. The beauty of blend modes is that they change the way the pixels on the different layers interact with each other, creating effects that are often unexpected and can be changed with one click of the mouse. It is a process that continues to capture my interest and peak my creativity. See my Montage Gallery.
